Neighbourhood Planning update
A Community Day was hosted by the Neighbourhood Planning Team at the parish hall in Golberdon on Saturday the 21st September.
The original idea for the event came from a suggestion by Cat Ede, and we would like to say a big thank you to her for this excellent idea.

Choir Debut in South Hill
Firstly, thank you to those brave and very professional souls who made their debut on the stage in the Parish Hall at Golberdon to advertise the newly forming Ladies Choir on Community Day, Saturday 20th September. The response from new members has been staggering and I’m still hearing of new people wanting to sign up.

Singing Workshops off to a Flying Start
After months of preparation and anticipation the first Singing Workshop of World War One songs took place in Callington Town Hall on September 6th.

Then come to Callington Town Hall on Saturday, September 6th, at 10am and join many others in the first of several of Callington’s World War One ‘Singing Workshops’. These are FREE and have been made possible by grants from The Heritage Lottery Fund and FEAST.
Parish Trip to Brittany…
The parish church of South Hill is dedicated to St Samson who reputedly was here in the 6th century AD . He travelled from South Wales, via Cornwall, to Dol-de-Bretagne in Brittany where there is a cathedral also dedicated to him.

Callington Festival Week has just received a massive boost from the Big Lottery Fund. Callington Town Forum has been successful in receiving grant funding in excess of £8000, for a big finish to our Gala Week festivities. The idea is to provide a large marquee and associated service marquees for a performance venue in Callington. The event named “THE KELLIWIK FESTIVAL” will take place from about 1pm on Friday the 11th of July and will finish on the evening of Sunday the 13th. Entrance to the festival will be free for everyone. There will also be a free bouncy castle! Continue reading
