Callington Festival Week has just received a massive boost from the Big Lottery Fund. Callington Town Forum has been successful in receiving grant funding in excess of £8000, for a big finish to our Gala Week festivities. The idea is to provide a large marquee and associated service marquees for a performance venue in Callington. The event named “THE KELLIWIK FESTIVAL” will take place from about 1pm on Friday the 11th of July and will finish on the evening of Sunday the 13th. Entrance to the festival will be free for everyone. There will also be a free bouncy castle!
The event will take place on the main recreation ground in Saltash Road. There will be a staged area and room for several hundred spectators inside the Main marquee. There will be sound engineers on site with all necessary equipment as well as generators and lighting. There will be first aid cover for the whole weekend.
The Town Forum has provided the venue. We are now calling on the people of the Town and surrounding areas to make this a success. We need performers to fill the weekend with family entertainment. We need service providers to provide food outlets. We will need stewards and volunteers to help with security and other roles for the venue.
