Parish Trip to Brittany…

The parish church of South Hill is dedicated to St Samson who reputedly was here in the 6th century AD . He travelled from South Wales, via Cornwall, to Dol-de-Bretagne in Brittany where there is a cathedral also dedicated to him.

Last summer, after some exchange of letters with the cathedral, two visitors from Dol came to South Hill and visited our small church.  They were keen to develop a link between us, and have now suggested that we might organise a short visit to Dol for a group from South Hill.  The regular congregation at St Sampsons is quite small, so we thought it might be better to ask if anyone from the wider community here would be interested in such a trip.

LeSaintSamsonNo plans have been made yet, but we were thinking of a fairly short trip, perhaps 2 or 3 days, in the autumn. It would be an interesting opportunity to explore a part of France which is probably not too familiar to most of us.
