Church Matters
Here’s a joke my daughter recently told me: person 1 – “When a giraffe drinks a cup of coffee, the coffee gets cold by the time it reaches the bottom of its neck. Do you ever think about that?”; person 2 – “No”; person 1 – “And that’s just it isn’t it – you only think about yourself.”
Golberdon’s own Little Princess

On Wednesday 26th November Darcy had her long long hair cut off in school assembly!
The Golberdon Girls
The choir are sounding fab and are looking forward to their Upton Cross debut on Friday November 29th.
We’re singing at the church carol evening held at the Parish Hall, Golberdon on the evening of 12th December and around Callington on the evening of 19th December collecting for Children’s Hospice SW, Callington Foodbank and Royal British Legion.
Our final event of the year will be in the church service at South Hill, 11.15am on Sunday 21st December
It’s amazing what people have achieved since the middle of October. I’m really ecstatic!
Recruiting again in January with an all out focus on Abba! It’s going to be great.
AND… also considering starting up a children’s choir targeting children in South Hill Parish if there’s enough interest. If you are interested please contact me, Rachael Budd

Parish Hall Update November 2014
Thank you to everyone that supported the Harvest Supper – the event raised £400, to be spent on new equipment for the hall.
Our next big event is the Children’s Christmas Party. This year it will be on Saturday 13th December from 1.30pm- 4pm. It will have party games and disco, a visit from Father Christmas and his helper, and a party tea. We will be limited on numbers so please book your tickets early at £4 per child. Tickets are available from Liz Moir – 383202 or Nick Easton – 384770.
Every Thursday from 10.30 am – midday, to coincide with the mobile shop visit, there is a ‘coffee, cake & chat’ session held in the village hall, sponsored by the village hall committee. We are looking for volunteers to bake and serve each week, please contact me for more details.
Have you seen the new canopy that covers the patio area – looking forward to making good use of this area next year. Work is due to start this month on providing the outside toilet by Mike Palmer and his team, and due to be opened by the New Year.

My name is Fiona and I live in Golberdon. We are collecting for Gables Dogs and Cats home to help them over the Christmas period, unfortunately a time in which they see their numbers increase dramatically.
