This is to get the group properly set up with the appropriate legal structure, to conduct feasibility studies into renewable energy generation in the parish and to decide how the revenue from these projects can best be used to reduce energy usage and costs in the parish.

The technical report conducted by BRE National Solar Centre into potential sites in the parish for roof mounted solar PV systems has been completed. The Parish Hall, Golberdon is a technically and financially viable site for a 4kW PV system comprising of 16 panels. SHARE and the Parish Hall Committee can now discuss how they can work together to take this further. Several agricultural building roofs were also surveyed. These could be used by their owners or could be part of a community scheme.

Soon, there will be another SHARE meeting to formally agree what it aims are and to receive advice on a legal structure and governance. This may seem a bit tedious but is necessary. If you would like more information about any of the above or wish to be informed about the discussions happening within SHARE, please e-mail share@south-hill.co.uk
