Calstock Footpath Society AGM Report


Calstock Footpath Society have just celebrated their 30th AGM, preceded by a walk of course!

New officers were sworn in and the Chairman reported another successful year with interesting walks covering many miles and work parties clearing paths and streams and the near conclusion of the ongoing new Walks Guides. Four leaflets have already been printed, with the remaining six soon to be completed. The walks are listed on the web site and can be easily downloaded and printed off or picked up at various locations including those who supported the project.

Footpath Walk – Wagmuggle to Browda


(third in our series on local footpaths)

mapThe footpath starts on the public road at Wagmuggle just past the cottage which is on the road from Kerney Bridge towards Mornick. There is a sign on the left hand side of the road. The path goes down a short incline and then crosses a stream by means of a granite footbridge, which as shown in the winter can be quite swollen so you need to be steady on your feet if you are to avoid a soaking.

Circular Walk from Golberdon


map1Another in our series of local walks – a 1 ½ to 2 hour circular walk around Golberdon taking in lovely views of Caradon, Cheesewring and Sharptor and walking along the bank of the River Lynher.

Start at the Parish Hall in Golberdon and walk out on the road towards Trevigro (south). Take the second right and after approx ¼ mile, go through a gate on the right (pictured below).
