Cornwall Council Update, October 2015
I cannot believe I am already writing a newsletter for the November editions of parish magazines. How on earth has this happened? There are some reports that we are in for a very long, hard winter. If that is the case, please look out for each other and, in particular, check on elderly or vulnerable neighbours.
Prize-winning Limerick – read it here…
At the Callington Crafts and Produce Show in August this year, one of the classes was a Local Limerick. Shirley Morse entered and won First Prize with this little gem:
Blood Moon Eclipse
These photos were sent to us by Linda Scott, one of the talented photographers in South Hill parish.
How many people stayed up to see the eclipse? And how many stayed awake to see the whole event?

Golberdon Choir perform new Rugby Anthem
A chance conversation at the school gate led to the involvement of the Golberdon Girls and the Golberdon Kid’s Choirs in the production of a new rugby anthem.
SHARE membership is growing fast
The first opportunity to join was at the Horticultural Show and Fun day in August. Everyone over 16 who lives, works or owns land in the parish and supports our mission to reduce energy costs and the damage to our environment caused by energy generation, is welcome to join. 25 joined on the day and a similar number have joined since.
If you would like to join a membership form is here.
At Last! Superfast!
We uncover the truth and the LIES
At last it’s official! Superfast broadband is available to homes and businesses in South Hill parish – at least those within reach of the new “green boxes” that were fitted a few months ago. Here at South Hill Connection we attempt to bust a few myths about how to get connected.
Church Matters, September 2015
At the time of writing the “Migrant” crisis is still in full swing, taking up much newsprint, TV airtime and political ping-pong. It’s been moving along at such a pace that I suspect that by the time you read this in early October the whole situation may have entered an altogether new phase, whatever that may be. It has been intriguing to see how the media, politicians and the world has responded over the past few weeks, and not all of it has been covered in glory.
SHARE Welcomes New Members
SHARE is now welcoming members. Anyone over 16 who lives, works or owns land in South Hill Parish can join as a member for £1 and buy one share for £1. An application form is available:
