Palm Sunday, 25th March, St Sampson’s Church, South Hill, are planning an informal service, with a real donkey, A good natured miniature chap called Corduroy, who is a local resident. it will take place at Golberdon parish Hall at 10am We will have a short walk of witness and singing, led by the donkey, starting from outside Green Meadow, (on the road towards South Hill) to the hall, join us there or along the route, or at the hall, bring a branch to wave. This will be followed by a short friendly service, biscuit making for all ages, tea coffee and hot cross buns.

This will be a
short informal service followed by coffee, tea, juice and the best cake ever.
Our lives are enriched by our animals. They bring us many blessings and they play a big part in our lives, giving us joy, companionship, livelihood and sustenance.
You are invited to bring your well behaved: dog, cat, rabbit, parrot, stick insect, sheep, horse or chicken, whatever, to give thanks for the part they play in your life.
Bring a photo of your pet past or present.
U3A speaker June 2017
This month speaker at the Callington U3A was the delightful and funny Denise Walker her talk was entitled ‘Who goes there’ a look at animal tracks.
She suggested when we are out walking in this beautiful county, that we keep our noses to the ground, as there is a world of animal tracks and clues to the wild life in your area. You need to look for clues to the small dramas that have been taking place.
There maybe fur caught on barbed wire, tracks and trails in the bank, and foot prints if the path is wet. Denise showed us various tracks we could spot, like hedgehogs, squirrels, deer and foxes. She showed us pictures of various poo! which contains the indigestible parts of foods such as hair, feather, bone splinters, which provide a wealth of information. Smells also play a vital role in the social aspects of mammals.
Clues can be found about their eating habits in their droppings, there are 3 types, vegetarians, carnivores and birds.
Gables Farm Christmas Collection
My name is Fiona and I live in Golberdon. Myself and a friend Dawn from Trevigro are collecting for Gables Dogs and Cats home to help them over the Christmas period, unfortunately a time in which they see their numbers increase dramatically.
We are looking for donations of food, treats, toys, good condition blankets and towels. If you are able to donate any of the items listed above please drop them into Berrio Farm, Golberdon, PL17 7NL (Heading towards Pensilva turn right before Kerney Bridge and we are the 4th house on the right with the sign of the public footpath)
