South Hill W.I. was formed over sixty years ago and its members continue to enjoy their friendly monthly meetings in the Parish Hall, realising that they are part of a very influential national organisation. Nowadays business at the meetings is kept to a minimum and this is then usually followed by a talk or demonstration (this year we have already heard about the Changing Face of the Ambulance Service, The Life of a Film/TV Extra, Gardening For Birds and had a wonderful Italian Cookery demonstration). At the end of the meeting members enjoy a very social time over tea and coffee. This is certainly how I met and made so many friends in the Parish. There are also many opportunities available to take part in events and activities organised by Cornwall County WI.
Do come along as our guest – young to not-so-young are very welcome at our meetings. We meet in the Parish Hall, Golberdon, with members arriving at 7pm so that we can start the meeting at 7:15pm. Watch this space for details of meetings in the New Year.
