Callington is the place to be over the weekend of July 10 – 12, the Kelliwik Music Festival will be the event not to miss! With live music in three venues, the main one the stage in the huge main marquee, while performers set up there will be live music in the beer tent and the craft stall tent, there will be much to enjoy and experience. Music dance and drama of all genres, jazz, rock, acoustic, gospel, brass band, and choirs are all on the menu. In other marquees will be many craft and local produce stalls, local food and hot food and a specialist coffee stall will all be there. Family activities including a fun dog show, face painting, a clown and several others, it’s going to be even better than last year and that’s saying something!
Held towards the end of Callington’s Carnival Week with 27 hours of live bands, drama and dance, the Kelliwik Festival will again offer local people the chance to shine on stage as well as a long weekend of entertainment for the town and surrounding villages. The merry band of organisers say the goodwill from local people and the atmosphere was amazing last year, and the bands and other performers who all perform for free, are all booked in and very pleased it is happening again this summer.
The site is ideal with the recreation ground being very near the town centre and next to a free car park. It comfortably has space for the marquees and stall holders with local crafts, produce, refreshments, the all important beer tent and the huge one with the stage, seating and room to dance for the performances and audience!
