Calstock Footpath Society have just celebrated their 30th AGM, preceded by a walk of course!
New officers were sworn in and the Chairman reported another successful year with interesting walks covering many miles and work parties clearing paths and streams and the near conclusion of the ongoing new Walks Guides. Four leaflets have already been printed, with the remaining six soon to be completed. The walks are listed on the web site and can be easily downloaded and printed off or picked up at various locations including those who supported the project.
A Big Thank you to the generosity of Louis Tea Rooms Kit Hill, The Queen’s Head Albaston, Cross House & Carpenters Arms Metherell, Tavistock Arms Hotel, Buccaneer, Cornish Inn, Sandhill House B&B and Premier Stores Gunnislake, Tamar Inn and Boot Inn Calstock, White Hart Chilsworthy and Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership.

Saturday 21 February 2015
Meet at 11am at Harrowbarrow & Metherell Village Hall car park. (SX 401 698 GPS N50o30’21.51” W4o15’33.67”)
A four-mile walk, fairly easy going on roadways, cart track, and public footpaths through woodland and fields, with stiles and kissing gates. There are some climbs and descents. We shall go up via the Coombe, then down past All Saints Church to Wheal Brothers mine. The route can be very muddy so walking shoes or boots are recommended.
The walk includes an optional stop at Louis Tea Rooms on Kit Hill. Sorry, unsuitable for dogs. Non-members will be asked for a donation of £2.
