In past times, people from Cornwall have travelled and settled in places all over the world.
Sometimes their descendants return to the area to trace their family history. Our South Hill Connection Guest Book is open to all who wish to leave a message.
Gary Ash, of Chichester, West Sussex wrote recently:
“My wife and I have just returned from spending a week on Glenn Silva Farm, we were searching for my Great Grandfathers grave, his name was William Ash and he died aged 29 in Liskeard, he was a miner at Redmoor Mine, he married my Great Grandmother Hanna Warne from Southill and we visited the church where she was baptised. We have now traced both Ash & Warne families that go back in the area to 1794 and they left for London in 1911, amazing to see your family history. We continue our search.”
