WI update, May 2015

WILogoOur speaker for the May meeting was Mr. Edward Buckingham who lives at Saltash, and he is the only Cornishman who has climbed the world’s seven summits.  He explained and gave a powerpoint presentation detailing about his adventures.

It was reported that we had achieved 2nd place at the Cuddra Quiz Congratulations to the competing Team.

We had to Unfortunately cancel our proposed Curry Lunch in April, but hopefully this will happen later on in the Year.

Last minute discussions for our entry for the Royal Cornwall Show, meeting up to assemble stand before Show, participants would be e-mailed with details.

We wished our representatives attending events in London all the best, and look forward to them telling us all about it!

A Collection for the Cornwall Hospice Care was done, with us selling cakes etc: and we managed to collect £40.15.

It was decided to hold a Cream Tea on the 19th July.

Members were given choices of menu for our meeting in June at Polhilsa Farm, in celebration of the W.I centenary.

Members were also invited to the celebrations at Launceston W.I on the 4th June at the Town Hall to watch the proceedings at the Albert Hall  (London).
